Match report for Sunday 22/4 home against Yate Town.

To the Fry Club Girls this game against Yate Town was important in a slightly different way, with Yate occupying a Upper Mid Table place, this game would be a good measuring stick as to how far the Fry Club B Girls had improved since they last met early in the season last year, the Yate Town Girls wining 3-0 on that occasion.

The game started with Yate quickly out of the traps and putting the Fry's Club Girls under pressure, again as in some past matches the Fry Club Girls were a little slow to get going and a couple of times nearly paid the price, with Yate having most of the attacking play for the first 5 minutes.

The Fry Club Girls midfield then came to life and with what must have been their first attack of the game got Chelsie free to score the first goal and put the Fry Club Girls in front

1-0 . Yate were shaken by this and the Fry's Girls started to play some intelligent passing Football. However,Yate immediately struck back and levelled the score to 1-1. Chelsie then feeling the affects of a long journey home from a family holiday, was substituted for Sophie up front. Danni then changed gear and just seemed to fight for every thing on offer in the midfield, as well as putting some lovely passing football together with Emily "T" , Sophie and Amy, who likewise moved the ball around nicely and fought for every ball! The Fry Girls were now playing the better football and on top. Fry's were awarded an indirect free kick just inside the Yate box and with the Yate players and everyone else concentrating on Danni passing to Amy for the shot, Danni slipped the ball to Emily "T" who knocked it into the back of the Yate Town net! This put the score at 2-1 to The Fry Club Girls. The game erupted into an end to end affair with little separating both sides. Yate were then given a direct free kick just outside the Fry's box but Charlotte saved it brilliantly! The whistle then sounded for half time.

The second half started with Yate having made some changes to get on top of the game and for the first five or so minutes they pinned the Fry Girls back. The Fry's midfield again fought back to even up the play and both Amy and Sophie came close to scoring. The game was end to end and Yate scored to level the score to 2-2. In an attempt to snatch a victory and to replace some very tired legs Steph was changed for Sophie and Alice was changed for Emily Tite, in the dying minutes. Chances were now going begging at either end but the final whistle blew on a great game from both sides with the scores tied at 2-2.

So yet another precious point for the Fry Club Girls, and in answer to have the Fry Club B Girls improved and will they achieve a mid table finish to the season its a big YES ! on both counts, well done girls! keep it up!

This games player of the match was Danni, for her non stop backwards and forwards running tackling and some very intelligent passing well done.

Players mentioned in dispatches for this game are Emily Tite for a great goal and her never say die attitude, Charlotte for a gritty goal keeping performance, Sophie for another hard working quality game and Amy for upping her work rate and chasing every lose ball down, well done girls!
